30 Years of Productivity Advice from Dan Pink

This blog has often shared my posts and reflections about being productive, making good use of your days.

Here is 6 time author Dan Pink with another great video on Productivity. Again he provides 12 minutes of gold. I’m sharing his video here. I recently shared his great video How to make 2026 the best year of your life.

  1. Do Less
    • Only 5 tasks/day
    • Pick and start with most important task (MIT)
    • Keep a visible “To-Don’t” list
    • No as default answer to new requests
  2. Protect most Productive Hours
    • Time box and remove distractions
    • Do hardest work first (eat the frog)
  3. Systemize the Small Stuff
    • 2-min rule (do small tasks immediately)
    • Batch tasks, no context switching or multitasking
    • Limit options -> spend less time on decisions
  4. Track Progress
    • Write 3 daily wins
    • Weekly focus and end of week review
  5. Breaks = Fuel
    • Use strategic breaks to stay sharp
    • Take a walk outsid, Call a friend
  6. Build Habits
    • Consistency > Intensity
    • Focus on routines, not heroics
